Certified True Colour Expert

For years I have followed a colorful and insightful blog, Colour Me Happy, written by Maria Killam. I can’t tell you how I found this particular blog, but I’m so glad I did. Maria has spent many years studying color and perfecting her system for choosing the perfect color, no matter the space, EVERY time.

Now let’s think about this — how often have you stood at a paint counter hoping that the color you’re ordering will work? I’ve done it — quite a few times! But you could have help picking the perfect color EVERY time.

So when I decided to start taking a career in interior design seriously, I started thinking about the workshop Maria travels the world teaching.

Color plays such a significant role in designing a successful space. Considering this, don’t I owe it to future clients to learn as much as I can about specifying color?

The answer — YES! And so I, hesitantly, signed up to attend Maria’s recent workshop in Charlotte, NC.

Let me tell you — it was worth it! In a short period of time (3 days), I learned more about determining undertones. I learned how to decide if a color is clean or dirty (extremely important distinction), and so much more.

If you haven’t read Maria’s blog, I encourage you to do so. I mean what can it hurt? Probably nothing — but I bet you’ll learn something about color that you never knew.
