I’ve Got SPRING Fever!
I have a confession — spring is my most favorite season of all seasons. I’ve never been clinically diagnosed, but I suspect I suffer from winter blahs (this really is a thing) every year.
So when a whiff of spring blows my way — just ignore the pollen in this scenario, m’kay — I’m more than ready for higher temps and A LOT of sunshine. (I’ve tried to convince eldani to relocate to a perennially warm locale with no luck!) And I’m itching to start digging in the dirt!
We’re finally getting to the point at which I can sink some roots in our back yard. We put off planting because we had a severe water drainage issue that we did not foresee and finally got that under control last spring/summer/fall.
Have you noticed that our projects tend to take longer than one would expect? Yep, that’s eldani! (I’m married to a perfectionist; we’ll discuss [listen to me complain] about how this impacts a renovation timeline.)
Regardless, I’m thinking of potted black bamboo for a privacy screen, limelight hydrangeas planted along one wall, a hosta garden by the far gate (started in the fall and hoping they’ll return), and a little something special (what will it be?) along the opposite wall. And that doesn’t include the potted plants that I love so much!
What about you? What’s making your heart sing in the garden these days? I can’t wait to hear all about it.
Chau!
